Internship Product Data & E-commerce
Would you like to work on a project where your contribution is immediately visible and directly supports the digital development of an international trading company?
Bingham Schiedam B.V. is a long-established wholesaler and industrial sailmaking company, with a history dating back to 1871. From our headquarters in Schiedam, we supply thousands of products to customers in the maritime, scaffolding and industrial sectors.
Our range consists of approximately 5,000 products, including ropes and mooring lines, flags, tarpaulins, scaffolding nets, lifting slings, lashing equipment and many other technical products.
A large amount of product information is already available within our organisation, but it is not always complete, consistent or centrally organised. This includes product descriptions, technical specifications, purchase and sales prices, weight, country of origin, HS codes, images, product data sheets, safety information and other technical documentation.
That is why we are looking for an enthusiastic intern who wants to help us improve, structure and enrich our product data — and make it ready for the next step in our digital and e-commerce development.
What will you be doing?
During your internship, you will first analyse how Bingham’s product data is currently organised and identify where improvements can be made. Together with colleagues from different parts of the organisation, you will help define a clear standard for complete, reliable and high-quality product information.
After that, you will work hands-on with our product database. You will review existing information, fill in missing data and improve consistency in product descriptions, specifications, images and documentation.
You will work with information from our internal systems, suppliers, technical documentation and other reliable sources. You will also have the opportunity to explore how automation and AI can help us work faster, smarter and more efficiently.
Your activities will include:
analysing the quality and completeness of our current product data;
developing standards for complete product information for different product categories;
reviewing and improving product descriptions and technical specifications;
adding missing information such as weight, country of origin and HS codes;
collecting, organising and linking product images, data sheets and technical documentation;
identifying ways to manage and maintain product data more efficiently;
exploring how automation and AI can be used to collect, verify and enrich product information;
contributing directly to the further development of our e-commerce and digital processes.
Why is this internship interesting?
This is not an internship where your work disappears into a report at the end of the semester. You will work on a real project with a clear business impact. The improvements you make will actually be used in our systems, webshop and day-to-day operations.
You will get a good insight into how product data, e-commerce, purchasing, sales and logistics come together within an international B2B trading company. At the same time, there is plenty of room for your own ideas, initiative and solutions.
